Pre-Vatican II Roman Catholic

Traditional Latin Mass

Mary Help of Christians Chapel was founded in 2017 under the direction of the Most Reverend Donald J. Sanborn, as a means of providing Mass and the Sacraments to those Catholics in Australia who hold that preserving their Catholic Faith requires rejecting the changes of Vatican II.

Because the Catholic Church is indefectible, we know by Faith that the Catholic Church is incapable of presenting false doctrines or evil disciplines to her children: but yet, any Catholic with even the most basic understanding of his Faith will realise that the errors proposed by Vatican II – such as those of ecumenism or religious liberty – are false doctrines contrary to the Catholic Faith; that the Novus Ordo Missae and the revised Sacraments, as well as many post-Conciliar papal documents such as Amoris Laetitiae or Fratelli Tutti, promote evil disciplines.

The only conclusion which we as Catholics might therefore draw, is that the organisation which presents these false doctrines and evil disciplines cannot be the Catholic Church, and for this reason we profess that the Holy See is vacant. As St. Paul teaches us (Galatians I:8): “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema.”

To receive the sacraments at Mary Help of Christians Chapel, it is therefore necessary that you attend exclusively the traditional Latin Mass, and avoid the New Mass, the reformed sacraments, as well as any Masses which are offered in union with the Vatican II hierarchy.

From a permanently-established chapel in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, the clergy of Mary Help of Christians Chapel conduct an apostolate throughout Australia, currently providing Mass and the Sacraments to the Faithful in the greater Melbourne area, Wangaratta, Brisbane, Sydney, and Adelaide.

We ask that those interested in attending Mass or receiving the Sacraments should first contact the chapel via the “Contact” form on our website, or via one of the means below:
